Turkey Tail Polysaccharides is a good biological effect modifier, which can stimulate the host’s anti-tumor immune function. It also has the effect of inhibiting tumor metastasis, and its mechanisms include inhibiting the formation of tumor blood vessels, tumor cells secreting enzyme activity that degrades the basement membrane, and metastasis-related factors.
After Hela Cells were cultured, Turkey Tail Polysaccharides were determined by the MTT method. The results showed that the growth of HeLa cells was obviously inhibited by Turkey Tail Polysaccharides in a does/time-dependent manner when Turkey Tail Polysaccharides concent ration was in the range of 0~0.625 μg/ml. Based on the analysis of the cell apoptosis rate by flow cytometer, HeLa cells that were treated with Turkey Tail Polysaccharides concentration in 0.5μg/ml for 24h,26.36% of the cells had apoptosis, while for 48h, 63.81% of the cells had apoptosis. After HeLa cells were treated with Turkey Tail Polysaccharides for 24h,
The results of quantitative real-time PCR analysis showed that the expression of Bcl-2 gene in the treated HeLa cells was down-regulated significantly. Turkey Tail Polysaccharides could promote apoptosis of HeLa cells, and the mechanism might be associated with the down-regulation of Bcl-2 expression.
